It is spell day! We hope you enjoy the spells we had to share today. Please remember to visit our facebook page to see more of our posts https://www.facebook.com/ElementOfMagick

Blessed be

Pagan Lingo of the day by Lady Destiny: God/dess -
A specific male or female representation of the Divine of creation. Many Pagan belief systems define 'God' as the God/dess recognizing the fundamental nature of both male and female energies within the Divine force.

The picture was taken of Butchart Gardens which is located near Victoria on Vancouver Island.

Healthy Garden Spell
Perform this spell during the morning hours.

Items needed:
4 small pieces of moss agate

Go to the center of your garden and hold up the stones to your third eye. Visualize your garden being green and producing an abundance of flowers, fruits or vegetables. Toss the stones one by one toward the four corners of the plot or garden and say the following:

“O active, Fertile Lower Sun
I call upon You, Virile One
To fertilize this garden well
And activate the stones that fell
So that together You'll produce
A healthy garden so profuse
That none has ever seen its kind
By these words, You are assigned
To do these things I ask of Thee
As I will so mote it be.”

Bury the stones where they lay and tend to the garden.

Some herbs and their uses for increasing luck

Pineapple: dried, is placed in bags and added to baths to draw good luck to the bather.

Dream Catcher Spell

Take a dream catcher and whisper these words into it very quietly and under your breath:

“Oh dream catcher
bring me good luck
let me sleep like a bear
until I wake up
so mote it be!”

This will bring you good dreams for the rest of the night.

A Mother's Love Candle Spell

author unknown

Set aside a night that you and your children will be able to complete this without interruption.

Take your children out to a candle store and purchase the following candles for each of them

1 Angel Candle- to represent the spirits and guardians
1 Animal Candle- to represent the animals spirits protecting you
1 Faerie Candle- to represent the faeries
1 Candle to represent the Gods and Goddesses
2 candles for each child-I representing the child and one representing you

Let each of your children pick out one candle to represent themselves. You should also pick one representing yourself and your love for each individual child.

Once you are back home carve the child's name on the back of "their" candle, making sure you both share in doing this. Repeat this with each child and "their"candle. Then on your candles, write your name allowing each child help you with your task.

Place the candles around all of you making sure they are not too close or that they will be knocked over easily. Be sure to pair the candles representing you with each child's. Next, light the candles. Then help your child(ren) visualize a white ball of protection above their heads and also you do the same. Increase the size of the balls so that they
encircle each of you.

Next say the following and have your children repeat after you-

"The Light of God surrounds us
The Love of Goddess enfolds us
The Power of God flows over us and protects us
The Presence of Goddess watches over us"
"Spirits and Guardians this night
Be drawn to our candlelight
Love and Protect us
Watch over and Guide us
Protect us from these evil harms
Enfold us in your loving arms"

When you are done with this, take your child(ren) in your arms and picture a white ball above your head. Fill that ball with your love for your children and bring the ball down and cover yourself and children in this ball. When you feel the strength in yourself, take the candles and leave them lit in the room you are in. Then you and the child(ren )do some activities that you all can do together.( something you all enjoy) Spend the rest of the evening together. The spirits, angels, guardians, gods and goddesses , and faeries will join you in this sharing and love.

Birthday Wish Spell

Items Needed:
Your Birthday
Paper
Pen
Flowering plant (plant that is already in a pot or plant a seed)

On your birthday, write your wish on a piece of paper and keep it under the plant. By placing your wish under the pot as the seed grows you wish shall grow and manifest.

A True Beauty Spell

Items needed:
A dish full of earth (good soil, not dry dusty dirt)
A yellow candle
A full-sized mirror
Olive, patchouli, jasmine or cinnamon essential oil
A small flower pot
A flower or plant seed

Anoint the candle with the essential oil you have chosen. Place it in the center of the dish of earth. Light it and sit down with it between you and a mirror. Look deeply into the mirror, concentrate on your reflection. Without being vain, consider the things you find most beautiful about yourself, not just physically, but mentally as well. What is your inner beauty, what is your outer beauty?

It’s important that you never think of what you feel must be "changed". Be as positive about the beauty that you have already. Perform this ritual 3 nights in a row. Once the entire candle has burned down, remove the wax from the dish. Place the earth from the dish inside a small flower pot and plant a seed inside it. Water it and care for it so that it grows properly. You will soon find that you beauty
will grow, flourish and shine brighter then ever before, just as the plant grows before you, emerging from its seed.

Working a spell

Basic Working Spell Outline

We all have different ways and routines when it comes to casting. So what I have done here is put together a basic guideline that you all may find helpful. These are in no way set in stone and can be changed to suit your needs. This is just a suggestion.

Ritual Preparation:
Choose a time and a place. What tools you need, make sure to set them up in the space you will be using. How are you going to raise energy (ie: dance, chanting, drumming, etc.) Choose how you want to cast and close a circle.

Cleanse yourself and your magickal space:
You can do this with a ritual bath for yourself, which might I add is so relaxing. Through meditation to help calm and focus your mind. You can cleanse your space with a ritual broom, incense, burning herbs or with a cleansing potion (used in a spray bottle). How ever feels right to you.

Cast the Circle:
Please see blog post “Casting”

Invocation of the Divine:
This part is to call upon the elements and/or a deity into your circle.

Statement of purpose:
This is simply to tell the Divine why you have called him/her to the circle.

Magickal Working:
This would be casting the spell or ritual you came to cast. Remember to ground your energy when you have completed the working.

Offering: (optional)
This practice is normally done during a ritual but is not unheard of for more powerful spell work. Normally an offering is food like cakes or bread and wine/mead or milk. Eat a small piece of offering and then place the rest in a offering bowl for the God/dess. When the spell is over do not throw the offering away. That is disrespectful and can upset the deity you offered it to. It should be placed or poured outside given back to the earth.

Thanking the Divine:
Thank the deity for helping you in your work and listening to your request.

Close the Circle:

This is the time you dismiss and thank the elements and open the circle.

As I said before this is just to give you a guideline as to what can be done for a spell. Not every step must be followed when casting. I simply find when I am writing something out it is nice to see an example layout of what is could look like.
